As Mr Toh has mentioned, i really don't think that this trip should be about winning the competition or whatever, because honestly, I think singaporean choirs tend to do quite well generally in overseas competition. And it should really be about ourselves, trying to challenge ourselves and find out exactly how far and how much we can achieve. I mean, why should we settle for this when we can achieve more? Of course, we can be happy. But after it, will we really be happy knowing that we could have put in just that extra ounce of effort and could have done better?
Which is why it's probably so important that we all really give it our best, really put in the most effort possible, and really just try as hard as possible to give this a shot. I mean honestly, it probably is the last time we will travel as a choir, as a batch, and for some/most of us, our last trip/chance singing in a choir. Why not make it the most magical and most memorable of all?
I think we really really are capable of doing it. And i think we should try as much as possible to make this wonderful.
Less than a day left. Omg. Let's go and make some music people. =)

Omg haiz so fast. Trip is here! It's in 2 days time. And it's our last practice before we fly off to compete. I would say practices when we get there wouldn't really be 'practices' anymore, but rather they will be reinforcing whatever we have managed to achieve in Singapore. So tomorrow better be good, because it's rather seldom that we will improve dramatically when we're there, though it's vaguely possible for the olomouc since there's quite a few days in between.
But ...
I typed a lot of things and it got eaten up by my sucky internet so i can't remember what i typed.
LOL. Basically yes we should all go and mug scores and sleep early tonight so that tmr can be a great prac and we can sing really really well yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. LOVE YOU ALL =DDDD

Yongfeng: omg get away from me
=)
Anyway i'm feeling rather pseudo crappy now because i know i feel crappy but then i'm rather happy too coz.. Well i ain't telling you in case youknowwhotohbobo reads this.
Okay la i'm feeling quite happy =D Just really tired. I had a really bad dream last night where these weird things on the wall were trying to kill me. Like they kept shooting darts at me if light falls on it so i was frantically running around the room trying to close the curtains and at the same time trying to evade the darts thingzos. Ah well lucky i didn't die.
zzz Okay i am SUPER SUPER tired i think i'll sleep at 10pm or something and snooze till 11am.

Anyway i think my parents are subtly making up for all the lost time recently, then plus the next 2 weeks where i'm not going to see them. =(
In the last 5 days they've brought me out for dinner twice, brought me out for lunch once, bought me a new pair of shoes, a new fragrance, a sunflower, haagan dazs dessert, and force-fed me alcohol. OMGGGGGG i'm so spoilt but haiz this obviously doesn't happen very often because 1. my parents tend to not be in Singapore for half the month 2. I am usually not this free because i usually have to study (studies/school has become like 3rd in priority after chorale (no. 1) and slacking (no. 2)) so yes that's why i am indulging in so much slacking and gallavanting.
Okay you know, obviously this has to stop because or not i'll fall sick or something along that line and that would be like a tragedy. Like, a catastrophe. Like, a disaster. Like.
And so, i have brewed myself so luo han guo drink thingie and I will promise to spam a bottle of water per hour tomorrow, not eat anymore fried food, abstain as much as possible from ice cream or yoghurt and alcohol, and spam more random stuff like vitamin C and ginseng and luo han guo.
Yuppz so in other words i will be a very very good boy from now on.
Okay time to go change water for my pretty sunflower (which was to make me feel happier just before GP exam) and feed it sugar so that it'll stay alive for longer before i fly off in 5 days' time!!
OMG. FIVE DAYS. OMG. 2 MORE PRACS. OMG.
LET'S PWWNS OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

Hahaha okay i was looking through my photos (again) and found this random one of me in sec 2 with dyed hair. Anyway, that was just after i quit hockey and omg i actually had a tan lor! See i've not been white my entire life. Actually not sure if the photo shows it nicely but i remember my tan being very nice =)))))) Because my skin is those type that tries to remain fair (duh) so when it does get a lot of sun, i don't really turn black but rather just turn rather brown. Mm. I should go get a tan one day, but i suppose that'll come next year haha.
Anyway, i found a really really nice brass version of lux aurumque. The middle part is very different from the choral version, but really impressive nonetheless. Go listen (just click the accept key). I think it evokes interesting feelings, hopefully those that bring out the words magnificant, impressive, glow --> things we can achieve with our choral version =D
Just perhaps to add on to some of the things that Ivan and julian have voiced. I am not absolutely certain why we sound so different from concert. But perhaps people are tired from catching up on homework. Others are busy studying for GP? Then there are those who could have lost steam after concert. And of course the sick people -.-
Whatever it is, I think all of us here know that we are capable of achieving the magical moments, the moments where we just go 'omg we're so damn good'. And i'm not sure whether it's really because so many people are sick, or because of the GP etc. But i really do hope that everyone of you realise how important it is to really prioritize now and put your effort into this trip.
I have always, always thought that choir is one of the CCAs where team work is greater than any other, and not only that, it really really does require both genders. It is also one of the teams where both genders work so closely with each to achieve the CCA's goals. Compared to sports with guys/girls teams, their teams are still separate. Compared to a band/CO or something, it isn't exactly necessary for there to be both genders since either gender can play any instrument. But in here it's so different isn't it. Unless we've a choir full of Julians then maybe we can make do without the girls la haha but oops he don't have tenor/alto range hmm..
Anyway my point is that each and every one of you is so important in making this thing work. And hence it's also so important that everyone puts in the same effort, and go into this with a unified heart and spirit. Yes it is understandable with all the random school stuff now, and I know that Mr Toh has tolerated it. But naturally he's worried with what he's hearing. Think about it, in a week and an hour's time we'll be at the airport, getting ready to check in and fly to poland!
Guys and girls, we've 3 practices left before we go. It is not a lot, but i know that with the right mindset, the right attitude and the right physical state, we can make so much out of this short amount of time we have left.
I really hope that the current unstableness in the choir is truly due to the sick people and perhaps the tiredness from the backlog of work. But well, hopefully after tmr's exam we will all be liberated and can get back on track =)
Come on! Let's do this for ourselves, we know we can. For the batch of 2008. =) Love you all!

Aiya i realise it's quite anticlimax that we're kind of singing 2/5 of the songs we sang for competition 2 years ago, and the fact that songs like salut was total -huh?- and de circuito was enjoyable but not memorable. I really liked 'the gift' though but i suppose um maybe it's a bit cheapo in a sense but it's still really nice =D. Ah well anyway.
5 more practices till we fly off! So fast. Will this be our last 5 practices ever? Oh no. I really don't regret a single thing in my time in chorale ya know. Can't think of any hmm.. Ok anyway this shall be left for the super long post that i'm supposed to post but haven't got time to yet. Xian.
Hai maybe this weekend or something. Anyway i need to quickly finish loading photos and making sure it works in time for mummy's dinner tomorrow night!! =D

I was like ZOMG. luckily never drop into my bak kut teh soup bowl. Yikes poor phone i was like QWEEEEEK! and saved it from all the liquid seeping into the gaps and wiped it immediately haha.
Omg i just realised tenors are physics freaks. Wen Di, Geoffrey, Ivan, Joseph and me all take H3 physics on friday. Yikes. But naturally i'm the most stupid of all omg Geoffrey please save me can or not my $150 fly away. Thank you thank you.
Ok so i have been voted by 99% of the people i've asked to be the scariest SL in chorale. Only person who said no is Julian.
WHYYY?? AM I REALLY THAT SCARY? NOOO THIS ISN'T HAPPENING. AHHHHHH. OMGOMGOMG. SERIOUSLY? DO I FREAK ALL OF YOU OUT? WHAT DO I THAT THAT'S SCARY? AHHHHHH.

Anyway i'm so proud of myself! I did my first maths tutorial yesterday! I was going to try to make breakthrough no.2 by doing econs tutorial, but totally burst because i had to study for extra chem test which my teacher made us do this morning at 8.15am in the library. Haha anyway i realise mondays and tuesdays are essentially classified as chem day. I have chem lecture, break, then chem tutorial on mondays. Then tuesday is double chem tutorial so i see Dr Wong for like a million hours until giddy. Anyway omg she totally stressed our class out today but telling us exactly how LITTLE time we have left until we die for A levels so we should all start mugging our brains out like about NOW so that we have a 0.001% chance of survival. And all these does not include studying for the other 3 subjects. Omg my heart was beating faster by the time she ended la omg. And our whole class was like =OOOO then we were like 'omg we're going to pwns 6A and 6P and get first in level for CT2 haha then one of my friends joked 'you get B you're outta here!' Ahem.
Wah shit okay no time man 2 weeks left to overseas trip!! before we come back and then 2 weeks left after that to Common Tests!!!
-faints-
Nevermind, for now we will immerse ourselves into the land of wong-wong sounds where we create magic, love and wonderful things that can hopefully last for a long time in our memory and hearts even after the moment has passed. =)

Oh, My, Gosh.
Chorale i think we're just so wonderful. Omg. Thank you all for putting in so much so much effort the past 4 months and i think like it all really paid of tonight when we sang really well, especially in the 2nd half. It's really seldom where people offstage come and tell you 'i could feel the happiness and can see from your faces and the way you sing that you guys were enjoying yourselves'. And indeed i was, and i think everyone else was too, especially at if i can help the 'if i can do my duty' part. Omg i think i crush it. I've totally learnt all 3 parts liao yay.
I love you all. Really. Thank you each and ever member of chorale who've help to make my dream come true, our dream come true, and really, i think my JC life would be so screwed up and boring like shit if not for this wonderful family.
Omg i don't want it to end. =(
At least we knew we ended with a bang.
Good job everyone! Thank you and LLLLurve you all =D

Chorale, I really love you all.
The people.
The music.
The songs.
The LT.
The keyboards.
The piano that is slightly out of tune.
The sectionals.
The Tenor section.
The Bass section.
The Alto section.
The Soprano section. (last 3 sections in no order of preference)
The fumigating
The pulling people away from urinals in the toilet
The singing out hearts out
The overtone
The jokes
The laughter
Each and every one of you
Mr Toh included.
This is so cruel =(
And so we shall make up for it by making it the most fantastic concert esplanade, the recording company, the audience have seen. If we're not singing for them, we will sing for ourselves, because that is truly what beautifies everything.
I love you guys, and girls. Promise to group hug okay.

OMGOMGOMG. DAMN EXCITING! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Okay i just came back from dance concert which was pleasant. Although i got a mild headache at one of the songs coz of the flashing lights haha. Okay either i'm not superb at appreciating dance or maybe they weren't that good? okay give benefit of doubt i think i can't appreciate hahahaha but anyway i felt the best dance was the chinese dance alumni. It was really good. Seems like wenhao's gf is a really talented dancer haha.
Oh btw did you all know that chorale did 'if i can help somebody' 4 years ago at VE 14? I have the recording of it and you all can come find me if you want. We so must pwns it hor. Can hear some mistakes and weird sounding areas, especially rushing in the middle and the really awful 'VAIN' haha.
OMGOMGOMG WE MUST BE DAMN PRO AND LIKE CUT AN ENTIRE ALBUM WITH ALL OUR CONCERT SONGS (except maybe warm up which is highly likely burstable HAHA).
Wheeee vitamin C is good. I shall go and lounge around and sleep =) Tomorrow my voice will confirm be like crap since it's really pro now, then i will not talk, monday go school also don't talk, and tuesday it'll be pro again muaha.
GOODNIGHT! REST A LOT A LOT AND PRAY FOR EVERYTHING TO GO WELL, PRAY FOR GOOD VOICES, PRAY FOR GOOD AUDIENCE (who don't cough during recording). BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, REST AND MAKE SURE VOICE IS IN TOP FORM.
YAYYY WE CAN DO IT =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. MUACKKX~!!
