Hello! I haven't blogged in ages as you all obviously can see. Decided to remove my tagboard because it's getting spam. Will find a new one when i come back.
Anyways, leaving overseas tomorrow! Will be back in like 10 years time so must miss me okay! =)
Last week's been really hectic. A lot of work to do and planning and coordinating and getting used to information overload. I'm still quite worried about things since I'm suddenly leaving tomorrow for 3 weeks haha but looking at how things are going, I'm also reassured that they will all go smoothly =)
It will be a busy year ahead, but I really hope things go smoothly, and not just maintain their level but also improve and get better. Lots of encouragement, goal setting, bonding, and magic-making. It won't be very easy, but with everyone's combined effort, I believe we can all do it =) We have to try, and only with trying then can we know what we are capable of.
Anyways just realised i'm completely dead for Common Tests. I have ONE week to study when i get back, and i am totally behind time in the first place. So i have to catch up and figure out what's going on, understand and let my brain go 'Oooooo' before i can start practising and blah di blah. Which is NOT possible in one week, but i shall attempt. Yes. I shall attempt. =) BECAUSE IF I DON'T I WILL JUST GET MURDERED BY MY MUM. RAWR.
Okay i've decided to change my mind and find a tagboard now coz my blog looks really empty without it. Yawnz. I am tired.
-5 mins later-
FWAH so efficient i've found one. Actually i just koped it off someone's blog and clicked on the link la. Don't really like it because i prefer the big box when typing the messages. But aiya okay nevermind I'll survive with this =) The Spam on my old one is really getting too much! Okay i shall post this and put the tagboard up =).
See you all in 3 weeks time and be good! xD

Silver
Hey everyone. Yes, RJ chorale got silver 2 days ago.
Naturally we would all feel really sad. I do, in a way, when the results came out. It was like this big hammer knocked me on the head and i was like OUCH and i just like numbly clapped. I didn't really know what to think at that time.
And then we went and gathered outside of VCH.
Seeing everyone standing there, with sad looks, some trying to smile. Geoffrey eating his pizza as if nothing happened. Somehow i felt yes, we didn't make it, but we tried, and in trying, the whole process and all the past 4+ months putting in all those hours and effort for concert and SYF was just all .. just so much much more important and invaluable compared to the results from a 15 mins performance.
Of course we felt sad, duh. But we stood as a choir. Taking our photos, and eventually getting high as a choir when we went out for dinner. How we just talked and laughed and joked at bennett's video. Afterwards, we moved to the steps outside and just sat down and talked. It was a wonderful. Really. Just enjoying the night with ourselves, with this feeling of ONE and togetherness. And what's more is that we continued to sing and despite having fallen, we still had the spirit to sing and laugh and everything. Many of us didn't want that spirit and feeling to leave us. Which was probably why i didn't feel like going home at all. I wouldn't have if my dad didn't call me at 11.
I think the whole experience has really moved me and i really don't regret a single thing in the past 5 months. If anything, i wish it wouldn't end. Yesterday wednesday afternoon, i came home and felt so depressed because i wasn't used to coming home early. Chorale, and the entire singing experience, of music making, of friendship, of laughter and joy and hours spent together making art, is just something that i wish i could have all my life. These are the things that are really so much more important than getting a gold with honours. They are the things that really touch the heart and seep into the mind and body. Nothing any award or material thing can provide.
Quotes Hui Lin: "We lost, but we gained. And perhaps what we gained really outweighs what we lost." And i think she's right. It is only the beginning of great things to come.
Yes we got a silver, but i think in all our hearts, what we got was a million times more than that. I LOVE YOU CHORALE! =) We are indeed born to sing.

-ponders- I realised i haven't really smiled in a long. Like a real genuine smile. Hmm. Okay so what's the definition of 'long'. Hmm..
Woke up with my throat screaming again bleh. But it feels vaguely better now after drinking 2 cups of ginseng with salt and 2 cups of luo han guo last night and now drinking this like 1000mg vitamin C effervescence thingzie after taking flu/cough/sore throat medicine. Bleh it sucks to be sick. Cannot randomly go around the house blasting to my siblings who'll scream at me to shut up (hee i usually ignore them)
OH and i cannot taste ANYTHING i eat which is even worse. I just feel like i'm eating mash and chewing on rubber or something. Green phlegm is disgusting but now it's turning pale yellow hee perhaps got reaction going on. Like my cough medicine is the spastic titrant.
Moving on. Got yucky physics test on thursday and i'm not in a mood to study at ALL. Like projectile motion more like projectile vomiting. -pukes all over my keyboard- Oo green phlegm.
AHHH okay i'm supremely bored someone please save me before i strangle someone. Okay maybe i'll go downstairs and scream at my sister. Hee. She's too happy for my liking.. Hmm.
tata people.

Hey people it's been ages since i last blogged. I think i've been so busy that there really hasn't been time to blog. And now finally, i'm taking a break and just well, spending some time i guess to write some stuff here.
Got really sick this week which is terrible as SYF is just next tuesday. Sigh. I'm coughing non stop and it's dry cough so it like.. causes a terrible sore throat. Aiya, what to do. I think i was probably too stressed up and worried last week over things i don't have a control over. Sometimes, maybe it really is very difficult to care so much when others don't care as much as i do. Then it just becomes so frustrating, like this sense of helplessness and wanting to murder someone. heh. But i guess sometimes, it's just perhaps too late to change things, because it will take up too much time, or that just a few people wanting something to happen is not enough to be able to make everyone see their way. Worrying just makes things worse and in a way can't exactly solve the problem. Aiya.
Not like i really found a solution, just found a compromise i guess.
4 more days to SYF. I think we can make it if we try real hard. But then again, almost everyone has been putting in hours and hours of practise. The question really is, is it fruitful? Do we learn something only to forget it the next practice. Is the time spent proportionate to the amount we improve?
Think a lot of it is our mentality. Sometimes i feel that perhaps we are singing so much, or trying hard, for what? To please Mr Toh? Or is it really to try to make the magic we can out of the music. Somtimes i just have a feeling that people are going through the motion of things. Like 'ok we gotta get GWH' so they work and work and work. But then it's like, working blindly? Don't really know. It's like as if it's not really a target set by themselves, but rather, set by someone else. And because they're in choir so it's their 'duty' to sing and practise and do their best. But it's just missing the point that it should all be for ourselves. There has to be that extra.. inner motivation and passion, before we can ownself want to further improve our music, and make more out of what we have. Instead, they're being pushed along and nudged along. There's no urge to go beyond the target we set and say WOW we only needed 100% but we managed to reach 150%.
I sometimes really believe in drilling things into the choir as well. I mean, drilling in a smart way. Like not doing 10thousand times only to have forgotten it afterwards. And i guess the thinking ahead part is really true la. Like must think ahead like what's coming and what we must do. That's just the initial.. Eventually it should really become 2nd nature such that no matter under what circumstances, it will be as it has always been. And not forgetten and realised only after the damage has been done. And then regret. Like that, what's the point? So sad isn't it.
But then again, i can't expect everyone to be as passionate about chorale/music-making. That would simply be the ideal choir. Haha. So perhaps there's just something lacking. I don't know. We need some form of inspiration? And of course, the inspiration towards the correct thing. We cannot think of like 'GWH!!' or 'yes yes practise really hard and try really hard!' because i think in like, art, there has to be this extra ooomph and well, passion for it before it can be taken 1 step further to cross that line. Yes like why would passion and stuff appear in our music? But like Mr Toh said, emotions of a person can be sensed, and like he said that though CJ may be out of tune, but they're making music. And i think because the people there are really trying hard to try to make music. The point is music as a whole idea, and not like singing individual parts, or trying to stay in tune, or just keeping in rhythm. There has to be this entire sense. Just this beeeeg picture. Don't really know how to explain lehz.
Ah well after all we only have 4 days left. So once again, we can just keep trying and trying. After all sacrificing another 4 days of our lives isn't going to take much =)
